OHPC Celebrates 31st Foundation Day In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd. (OHPC) celebrated its 31st Foundation Day with great enthusiasm and grandeur at the IMMT Auditorium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday. The event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries, senior officials, employees, and distinguished guests.

Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister for Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment and Energy, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Vishal Kumar Dev, Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Energy and Electronics & IT, and CMD, OHPC, presided over the function. Pranab Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance); Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR); Amiya Kumar Mohanty, Director (Operation); and Rajeeb Lochan Panda, Director (Projects), were present on the dais.

The programme commenced with the arrival of the distinguished guests, followed by the singing of “Bande Utkala Janani,” which set a ceremonial tone for the evening. Sandeep Patnaik, Director (HR), delivered the welcome address.

On this occasion, several key initiatives were unveiled, including the launch of the OHPC Theme Song, the revamped OHPC website, Online E-Varun, and the integration of OSWAS 2.0, marking a significant step towards digital governance and improved administrative efficiency. Recognising excellence and performance, OHPC honoured its units for outstanding achievements during the year 2025–26. The Best Performing Unit award was conferred on Rengali Hydro Electric Project, Rengali. The Second Best Performing Unit award was presented to Upper Indravati Hydro Electric Project, Mukhiguda, while the Best Housekeeping Unit award was given to Hirakud Hydro Electric Project, Burla.

The Chief Guest addressed the gathering, appreciating OHPC’s contributions to the power sector and the State’s development. The formal session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rajeeb Lochan Panda, Director (Projects).

The evening was enlivened by a vibrant cultural programme featuring captivating performances that enthralled the audience. The performers were also felicitated as a token of appreciation.

As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, a blood donation camp was also organised in association with the Indian Red Cross Society. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees and volunteers, resulting in the collection of around 40 litres of blood, reflecting OHPC’s commitment to social responsibility and community welfare.
