Bhubaneswar: In a heartwarming video call, former Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, a seasoned politician, shared in the euphoria of the Indian hockey team’s bronze medal win, personally congratulating the players, including Odisha’s own Amit Rohidas, on their impressive triumph over Spain at Paris Olympics 2024.
In a virtual celebration, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) praised the Indian hockey team’s stellar performance.
“Many, many congratulations to the Indian team from all of us in Odisha and the whole of India. We are so proud of you. Very, very well done. Thank you. We are so proud of you,” Naveen Patnaik said in the video call.
Following his video call, Patnaik took to Twitter and wrote: “Pleasure speaking to victorious #IndiaHockeyTeam and congratulating the team on etching their name in history with consecutive bronze medals in #Olympics.
Everyone in #Odisha and people across India are proud of this historic feat”.
Amit Rohidas, a key player of the Indian hockey team, expressed his gratitude to Naveen Patnaik for the unwavering support extended by the Odisha government, during his tenure, to the hockey players and Hockey India.
