Puri: Due to a family dispute, one person was killed and five others were injured near Tatambari Akhada Math in Puri’s Upara Malisahi area on Thursday.
According to information, Narsingh Mohanty had a dispute with his wife earlier. Mohanty alias Poda Sonu has been accused of beating his wife on several occasions.
Unable to bear it, Sonu’s wife left her father’s house. However, today when the family members went to his house to explain the incident, there was a quarrel between both of them, so Narsingh aka Poda Sonu was accused of stabbing five people together.
Sonu’s nephew Soumya Ranjan Pradhan was killed in the attack while his mother-in-law, wife and other relatives were seriously injured.
A couple of people were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment, while the rest are admitted to a local hospital and are under medical attention.
