Bhubaneswar: One person was killed, and two others were injured in two separate accidents in Boudh and Balasore districts.
According to reports, a bike rider identified as Sunil Patra died after being hit by a speeding highway truck at Ektala Square under Puruna Katak police station in Boudh district. The accident occurred as the truck driver lost balance and fell off the road. The driver reportedly fled the scene after committing the accident.
Meanwhile, police have launched an investigation to nab the absconding driver.
In a separate incident, a car crashed into a container on National Highway 16 near Kundupur, injuring two occupants, Shubham Mishra and Ajrul Khan, who were going to West Bengal from Balasore. The accident occurred due to poor visibility caused by dense fog.
The injured were taken to Basta Hospital initially. As their condition deteriorated, they were later shifted to Balasore District Headquarters Hospital.
Police, meanwhile, seized the car and began an investigation.
