Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court has granted permission for the construction of six large arches for the upcoming Dussehra festival in Cuttack. The approved arches are located at Chauliaganj, Ranihat, Malgodown, Shikharpur, Khannagar, and Badambadi.
As per the court’s directives, a magistrate-level inspection will be conducted for all arches to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory norms. Additionally, applications for permission for Puja will need to be submitted to the Sub-Divisional Magistrate through a single-window system at Barabati Palace from tomorrow.
To minimise disturbance, noise awareness hoardings will be placed near all mandaps, and restrictions have been imposed on the use of laser lights. Furthermore, bamboo for the construction of mandaps will be brought in at night to reduce disruptions. A noise ban above 65 decibels has also been enforced to maintain public order during the festivities.
