Bhubaneswar: The Supreme Court Collegium has approved the appointment of four advocates as judges of the High Court of Orissa.
In its meeting held on August 18, the Collegium cleared the proposal for the elevation of Sasmita Tripathy, Aditya Narayan Das, Rajjeet Roy and Gautam Misra.
An official statement issued by the Supreme Court confirmed that the Collegium has given its nod to these names for appointment as judges of the Orissa High Court.
This approval marks an important step in the judicial appointment process. The formal appointments will take effect only after the completion of the remaining constitutional formalities.
The induction of these four advocates is expected to strengthen the Orissa High Court and contribute to the faster disposal of pending cases.
