Bhubaneswar: The body of a man was found hanging in a forest near Dalaki village, under the jurisdiction of Soso police station in Kenjhar district.
Mirdas Ho, a resident of Dalaki village, had been missing for a month after being released on bail. He was initially arrested and jailed in November last year for allegedly poaching wildlife in the Hadgarh Elephant Sanctuary. The forest department had also seized various weapons from him and his accomplices.
After his release on bail, Ho suddenly went missing and his family launched a search for him at various locations. When their efforts yielded no results, they lodged a complaint at the Soso police station. This morning, some locals stumbled upon Ho’s body hanging in the forest.
While the cause of death remains unknown, the Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) informed that the Soso police are investigating further.
