Bhubaneswar: More than 1.01 crore women beneficiaries have been identified for the fifth instalment of the Subhadra Yojana, with the Odisha government stepping up preparations for the smooth disbursement of financial assistance on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima (August 28).

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida on Friday reviewed the preparedness for the upcoming instalment at a high-level meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan and directed district authorities to complete verification and disposal of all applications pending for field enquiry by July 25, 2026.

Officials were instructed to conduct daily reviews of pending cases to ensure that the verification process is completed within the stipulated timeline and eligible beneficiaries do not face delays in receiving the assistance.

According to data presented during the review meeting, a total of 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered under the Subhadra Yojana so far. Of these, 3,17,966 fresh applications were received during the 2026-27 financial year.

Following scrutiny and eligibility assessment, 1,02,04,396 women were initially considered potential beneficiaries for the fifth instalment. However, verification conducted by district administrations confirmed the deaths of 5,277 applicants, following which the final list was prepared with 1,01,99,119 eligible beneficiaries.

The meeting also reviewed the status of key processes required before the fund transfer, including Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) activation, biometric e-KYC, field verification, NPCI mapping, preparation of payment files and coordination with banks.

Parida directed officials to ensure seamless coordination among district administrations, concerned departments, technical agencies and banking institutions for timely and error-free disbursement of the fifth instalment.

The overall progress of the Subhadra Yojana was also reviewed during the meeting. So far, Rs 20,648.63 crore has been transferred through DBT to the bank accounts of more than one crore women beneficiaries across four instalments. The scheme has also received 2,68,396 grievances, all of which have been resolved, officials said.

Emphasising transparency and efficiency in implementation, Parida asked officials to ensure complete preparedness at every level for the upcoming payout.

The meeting was attended by Director of the Women and Child Development Department Monisha Banerjee, senior officials of the Mission Shakti Department, Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC) and other concerned departments.
