Bhubaneswar: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Odisha is progressing at a rapid pace, with over 25 lakh voter enumeration forms distributed on Day 3 of the statewide drive aimed at ensuring a clean and accurate electoral roll.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with BLO Supervisors, Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), and Booth Level Agents (BLAs) appointed by political parties, are carrying out the revision exercise in mission mode across all polling stations in the state.
As of 8 pm on Day 3, a total of 25,23,974 enumeration forms had been distributed to voters through intensive door-to-door visits by 45,255 BLOs deployed across Odisha.
Under the process, each voter is being provided two copies of pre-printed enumeration forms (Annexure-III). After verification and filling in the details, one copy is collected by the BLO, while the second is returned to the voter as an acknowledgement slip for future reference.
The 33,026 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) nominated by various political parties are actively supporting the revision exercise, helping ensure transparency and smooth execution of the process at the grassroots level.
The Election Commission has also provided an online facility through its official portal (voters.eci.gov.in), enabling voters to download and submit their enumeration forms digitally.
Clarifying the process, officials said that no additional documents are being sought from voters during the enumeration exercise. The Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) will prepare the draft electoral roll solely based on the information provided in the forms submitted by voters.
The ongoing revision drive is aimed at eliminating errors and duplications in the voter list, ensuring a more accurate and inclusive electoral roll in Odisha. BLOs have been directed to continue intensive field-level verification to complete the exercise within the stipulated timeline.
