Bhubaneswar: As many as 2,759 dengue positive cases have been detected in Odisha out of 70,000 tests conducted so far, informed Public Health Director Dr Nilakantha Mishra in his reaction to the dengue situation in the State.
Dr Mishra said that out of these, a maximum of 865 dengue patients have been detected from Sundargarh district, followed by 837 dengue cases in Khordha district.
In Khordha district more than 500 dengue patients have been identified in Bhubaneswar alone, he added.
The Public Health Director has said that due to high rainfall this year, the number of dengue cases is likely to increase.
He, however, maintained that this year steps have been taken in advance for prevention and awareness creation.
