Bhubaneswar: Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, chaired a high-level meeting to review the management of various Circuit Houses across Odisha.

Dr. Padhee directed officials to ensure proper maintenance, improved services, and cleanliness of all Circuit Houses, which primarily serve as accommodation for government officers, dignitaries, judicial officers, public representatives, and official guests during field visits. He emphasized maintaining them as valuable government assets with financial discipline and transparent booking processes.

The meeting decided to assign responsibility of Circuit Houses at district headquarters to the Collector or Additional Collector, and those at other locations to the Deputy Collector. Officials were instructed to strictly follow the “Odisha Circuit House and Revenue Inspection Bungalow Rules, 1985”.

Key directives include maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality, updating furniture inventory, implementing an online booking system, strengthening fire safety, and providing Wi-Fi and CCTV surveillance in Special Circuit Houses. Complete prohibition of smoking and consumption of intoxicants was also enforced.
