Jayapur: Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik on Thursday visited flood-affected areas of Kotpad in Koraput district and reviewed the situation following more than 48 hours of continuous rainfall.
Naik visited the flood relief camp at Shadranga panchayat under Kotpad block, interacted with affected residents and distributed relief materials and polythene sheets. He also took stock of the local flood situation and heard the grievances and difficulties faced by the affected people.
The minister later visited Pirinji village along the Indravati river and interacted with residents to assess the impact of the flooding.
Naik is also scheduled to visit the Kotpad Maa Gruha to review health services and discuss arrangements and essential facilities for pregnant women with officials.
The administration has been providing relief and necessary assistance to people affected by the flooding, while the situation is being closely monitored.
