Bhubaneswar: In yet another incident of robbery, a passenger lost Rs 60,000 on his way to AIIMS Hospital to deposit money for the treatment of his 14-year-old son.
The victim, identified as Brundaban Sahoo, hails from the Hinjilikatu area in Odisha’s Ganjam district. According to reports, Brundaban Sahoo was travelling to AIIMS Hospital to deposit money for his son Bibhuprashad’s treatment at the hospital’s Neurology Department. He had collected the funds from his village but his journey to the hospital was distressing when he discovered that the money missing.
Brundaban boarded a Mo Bus on route no 19 with the money in his pocket. The bus was crowded and as it approached Khandagiri where he suspects the money was pick-pocketed.
Feeling hapless over the incident, Brundaban promptly reported the matter at the Khandagiri police station. Subsequently, the police launched an investigation, scrutinising CCTV footage from the Mo Bus to identify the culprit.
