Bhubaneswar: The Congress had ruled Odisha for 50 years and the BJD for 25 years. Now, the time has come for a change and people have made up their minds to vote for BJP, said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday.
While addressing an election rally named as ‘Vijaya Sanklap Samavesh’ in Ranpur of Nayagarh, the veteran BJP leader lambasted the Congress for spreading false propaganda that the BJP will change the constitution if it is voted to power.
It was rather the Congress party which murdered democracy by imposing an emergency and toppling elected state governments in the country by a record 136 times using Article 356 during their tenure.
The BJP wants to introduce One Nation One Election in the country and simultaneous elections to both Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in the country. He said their party wants to save the time and resources of the ountry.
Coming down heavily on the Congress, Singh said that the grand old party had amended the Constitution 80 times and even attempted to change the preamble of the Constitution in 1976.
The union Minister said that BJP had promised to abrogate Article 370, the party did it when it came to power with clear majority.
He appealed to vote in large numbers for BJP and the Lotus symbol for a vibrant government in the State as well as the Centre.
