Berhampur: A Plus II student was found hanging at his home in Suryanagar in the Baidyanathpur area of Berhampur in Odisha’s Ganjam districts on Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Dekshishi Sethi, a second-year student at a private college in Berhampur.
According to reports, Dekshishi was booked for resorting to malpractice during the Physics examination at Khallikote College on Thursday. Humiliated over the incident, he reportedly ended his life by hanging from the ceiling of his room.
His family members discovered him hanging in his room on Friday morning and rushed him to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur, where the doctors declared him dead.
The Baidyanathpur police are investing in the circumstances that compelled the student to take the extreme step.
