Bhubaneswar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has showered praise on Koraput Coffee from Odisha, calling it “truly delectable” and a source of pride for the state. Speaking in his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ program, Modi shared his appreciation for the coffee, which was brought to his notice by people from Odisha.
The Prime Minister highlighted the passion of coffee cultivators in Koraput, mentioning that some individuals had given up lucrative corporate jobs to pursue their love for coffee. He also lauded the role of women in coffee cultivation, saying they had gained respect and prosperity through this venture.
Modi emphasised the growing popularity of Indian coffee globally, citing the diverse coffee-producing regions across the country, including Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala. He also mentioned the progress being made in coffee cultivation in the North-East, which is further strengthening India’s identity as a premier coffee producer.
“Koraput Coffee is truly delectable! This indeed is a pride of Odisha,” Modi said, quoting the phrase that captures the essence of the region’s coffee. He concluded by saying, “India’s coffee is coffee at its finest. It is brewed in India and loved by the World.”
