Poacher Arrested From Similipal Tiger Reserve, Weapons Seized

Mayurbhanj: Odisha Forest Department personnel have arrested a wildlife criminal with traditional weapons from the Similipal Tiger Reserve (STR) area in Mayurbhanj.

The accused has been identified as Mangal Bansingh, a resident of Nuniagoda village in the district.

According to reports, acting on a tip-off, Forest personnel from the Chahala Wildlife Range set up patrolling near Poragoda and detected that several persons had trespassed into the core area of STR with traditional weapons.

The team engaged in pursuit of the trespassers succeeded in arresting Mangal. They confiscated a bow, three arrows, and a bag of cooked rice from his possession.
