Bhubaneswar: Renowned Odia music composer Abhijit Majumdar passed away at AIIMS Bhubaneswar on Sunday at the age of 54. He had been undergoing treatment for multiple health complications, including high blood pressure and chronic liver disease, since September 4, 2025. Majumdar’s condition deteriorated on Saturday night, and he was on life support before his demise.
A prominent figure in the Odia music industry, Majumdar composed music for over 700 songs in Odia and Sambalpuri films and albums. His notable works include “Love Story”, “Sister Sridevi”, “Golmaal Love”, and “Sriman Surdas” ¹ ² ³.
The news of his passing has sent shockwaves across Odisha, with artists, filmmakers, musicians, and fans expressing grief and paying tribute to his enduring legacy.
