Bhubaneswar: President Droupadi Murmu is scheduled to address the 53rd convocation ceremony of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Thursday evening. While Odisha Governor Raghubar Das will preside over the convocation ceremony, Odisha Minister for Higher Education Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak will be the guest of honour on the occasion.
Utkal University vice-chancellor Sabita Acharya said that President Droupadi Murmu will arrive at the university at 5.30 pm and address the convocation ceremony at 6.15 pm. She will leave the university premises at 6.35 pm.
According to the university authorities, three eminent persons will be conferred honorary PhD/D. Litt degrees, as many as 166 scholars of Utkal University will receive their PhD degrees at the convocation ceremony today.
Utkal University has made special arrangements for the President’s visit. A special corridor has been laid to welcome the President, while a large LED panel has been installed in the university’s auditorium for live streaming of the convocation ceremony.
