Koraput: India has loads of talent and Sadashiv Manjhi of Odisha’s Jaypore is a glittering example of this. Recently, Sadahiv has been awarded by the President of India for inventing an innovative, low-cost, manually operated paddy transplanting machine.
Sadashiv, who used to make various kinds of machines for farmers from time to time, has now made paddy plantation machines using indigenous technology. This machine has been highly appreciated at the national level and President Draupadi Murmu has awarded Sadashiv for his innovation.
Through this machine, paddy plants can be sown in 3 to 4 acres in a day at a very low cost. The machine will be available in the market by the end of next year, said Sadashiv. The National Innovation Foundation has also awarded certificates and trophies to Sadashiv for his invention.
Most importantly, this machine will operate without fuel and electricity – a great boon for small farmers.
