Bhubaneswar: The Puri Police released a comprehensive traffic advisory in preparation for the upcoming Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha darshan of sibling deities. To manage the large influx of pilgrims, minimise disruptions and provide a seamless experience for pilgrims visiting the holy town of Puri, the advisory outlines structured movement plans for four-wheelers, two-wheelers, and shuttle services across the town.
Besides, a 24/7 helpline number (06752-232951) has been introduced to support pilgrims and vehicle operators during the Bahuda Yatra and Suna Besha darshan. The helpline will assist with queries, complaints, and navigation, helping to ensure a smooth experience for all.
For Four-wheelers
The traffic advisory specifies that four-wheelers entering Puri from Brahmagiri, Bhubaneswar, and Konark will follow designated routes and use specific parking zones.
- LMV from Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to parking places at Sterling side via Mangalaghat and Sterling Chhaka. They will park their vehicles as per sequence likely Sterling Chhaka Left side, Sterling chhaka road side, Sterling Chhaka Right side and Saha College Parking.
- All LMVs from the Bhubaneswar side will be allowed up to parking places at the Talabania side via Malatipatapur ROB, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station. They will park their vehicles as per sequence, likely OLA guest House, Helipad, ITI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market. After filling up all parking places at the Talabania side, LMVs will be diverted towards the Sterling side Parking Places via Malatipatapur Batagaon-Mangalaghat & Sterling.
- LMV from the Konark side will be allowed up to the parking places at the Talabania side via Balighai, Baidas Nagar and Grid Station. They will park their vehicles as per sequence, likely OLA guest House, Helipad, TI College parking, Indoor Stadium, Horticulture field Parking and Hygienic Fish Market.
For Two-Wheelers
- Two wheelers from the Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Old Jagannath Ballav parking on first come first-served basis, after filling up Old Jagannath Ballav parking, Matitota Helipad ground and Matitota Play Ground.
- Two wheelers from Bhubaneswar will be allowed up to Old Jagannath Ballav parking on first come first-served basis, after filling up Old Jagannath Ballav parking, Matitota Helipad ground and Matitota Play Ground Parking via Malatipatapur, Batagaon and Mangalaghat. Vehicle parked at Old JBPC will return via Jatiababaji Chhaka, Kumbharapada PS, Atharanala and Batagaon.
- Two wheelers from Konark side will be allowed upto Holiday Resort parking, Blue flag beach and Hotel Neelachal Ashok Parking via Baidas Nagar, Grid Station, Helipad, Penthakata Chhaka, CT Road & Subash Bose Chhaka. These two-wheelers will return in the same route. But no vehicle will be allowed to use the ROB road from Toshali Chhak.
Three-Wheelers Shuttle Service
- Three wheelers coming from Talabania will proceed to Ghoda Bazar via Water Works Road, Odisha Bakery & Ram Mandir. After dropping the passengers, they will return via Ram Mandir, Shreekhestra Colony & Mangala Mandir to Talabania.
- Three wheelers coming from Malatipatpur side will be allowed up to Atharanala via Batagaon Chhaka. After dropping off the passengers, they will return via the same route.
- Three-wheelers coming from the Brahmagiri side will be allowed up to Sterling via Mangalaghat. After dropping off the passengers, they will return via the same route.
