Jharsuguda: On the third day of his three-day ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi started a padayatra from Jharsuguda Old Bus Stand Street at 8.00 am on Thursday.
As per schedule, Rahul will address the public at Kisan Street in Behramal after covering 1.7 km from Old Bus Stand Street. He will reach Gobindpur in Lakhanpur block at around noon and then will take a rest at a guest house on National Highway No 49.
The Congress leader will leave for Chhattisgarh in the evening.
Meanwhile, numerous supporters, including women and children, waited for hours on both sides of the road to get a glance at their leader during the padayatra. Travelling in an open Jeep, Rahul greeted everyone and shook hands with some who rushed near the vehicle breaching security cordon.
Rahul Gandhi started the ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’ in Manipur on January 14 and it will conclude in Mumbai on March 20 traversing 13 states.
