Bhubaneswar: The low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal & adjoining areas of West Bengal-north Odisha coasts now lies over north Chhattisgarh & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height.
It is likely to move westnorthwestwards across northeast Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours, the IMD informed. According to the Met department, there will be no rain in the State over the next four days. However, on August 23 and 24, there are chances of rainfall and thundershower.
The IMD bulletin revealed that on August 23 and 24, thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Dhenkanal, Deogarh, Angul, Cuttack, Balasore, Bhadrak, Khorda, Puri, Nayagarh, Kandhamal and Ganjam.
“Also Heavy Rainfall (7 to 11cm) is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundergarh,” the IMD stated and has issued a yellow warning for these districts.
