Bhubaneswar: Odisha is gearing up for the Rajya Sabha elections as the Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the process by writing to the Chief Electoral Officer of Odisha to start preparations.
According to reports, four Rajya Sabha members from Odisha, namely Niranjan Bishi and Munna Khan from Biju Janata Dal, and Sujeet Kumar and Mamata Mohanta from Bharatiya Janata Party, are set to retire on April 2. That’s why, the ECI has asked the Chief Electoral Officer to initiate preparations for the Rajya Sabha elections.
The Chief Electoral Officer is expected to begin formal arrangements for the polls following the Election Commission’s communication.
