Ganjam: Golantara police arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in a series of theft cases.
As per reports, the accused, identified as Ranjan Sahu and Murali Sethi, both from Patrapur Bazar Sahi had been working in Bengaluru as supervisors in a company. The duo purchased a KTM bike after returning to their village Patrapur. However, they soon found themselves struggling to repay the loan taken to buy the KTM bike.
To pay off the loan, the accused resorted to unsocial means, stealing valuables especially gold ornaments from commuters. They would then sell the stolen goods to a youth named Gobardhan Nayak from Buratal village. Nayak was also arrested for his by police on Tuesday.
It is learnt that both Ranjan and Murali were involved in at least five theft cases. They are currently lodged in jail.
