Rourkela: In a move to strengthen its cybercrime investigation capabilities, Rourkela Police organised a four-day Cyber Investigation Training Programme from March 23 to March 26, 2026, at RIMS, Rourkela.
The programme was designed to enhance the professional and technical skills of police personnel, enabling them to effectively tackle the increasing challenges posed by cybercrime.
Cyber experts Shaik Ghousal Mubarak, Nitesh Kumar, and Mohammad Nazim from the National Police Academy, Hyderabad, conducted the sessions, providing hands-on training on cybercrime investigation, digital evidence handling, OSINT tools, and emerging cyber threats.
Brijesh Kumar Rai, DIGP, WR, Rourkela, and Nitesh Wadhwani, SP, Rourkela, attended the programme and motivated the participants to apply their newly acquired knowledge in real-world investigations.
The programme also emphasised practical exercises, allowing officers to simulate cybercrime scenarios and practice evidence collection and analysis. Officials said such initiatives are crucial to improving public safety in an increasingly digital world.
