Bhubaneswar: Senior IAS officer Sujata R Karthikeyan took voluntary retirement after a career spanning over two decades. The 2000 batch officer’s request for voluntary retirement has been approved by the central government.
The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions sent a letter to the Odisha Chief Secretary, requesting him to issue necessary notification in this regard.
“….it is to convey that Central Government has approved the request of Voluntary Retirement of Smt. Sujata R Karthikeyan, IAS (RR-2000) from IAS with effect from 13.03.2025, in relaxation of three months’ mandatory notice period under Rule 16(2A) of AIS(DCRB) Rules,1958. Further, Govt. of Odisha is requested to issue necessary ‘Notification’ in this regard,” the letter read.
Sujata Karthikeyan, a 2000-batch IAS officer and wife of Biju Janta Dal (BJD) leader VK Pandian, submitted her application around 15 days ago. She has taken VRS for personal reasons.
She has had a distinguished career, serving as the Special Secretary in the Odisha Finance Department.
