Servitors, Watchmen Arrested In Tara Tarini Temple Theft Case

Bhubaneswar: Police today arrested six persons including four servitors and two night watchmen in connection with the theft of the famous Tara Tarini temple in Ganjma district.

Purusottampur police arrested the temple servitors and watchmen who are allegedly involved in the crime. Police seized Rs 18,000 cash from the. They have been produced before a court today.

On the night of November 6, valuable items including a silver crown of the presiding deity of the revered shrine were stolen.

The thieves entered the temple by breaking the grill and main door and decamped with a silver crown among other ornaments and cash from the donation box.

he head priest of the temple said the miscreants decamped with various silver ornaments and other valuables. Reddy said the temple was not under CCTV surveillance as they were removed during renovation works.
