Malkangiri: The district administration in Malkangiri has released a short film ‘Mission Uddan’ to raise awareness on child marriages.
Malkangiri district had the highest number of child marriages. But efforts by the district administration and the District Child Protection Unit have been successful.
It is because of campaigns such as ‘Malyabanta Nandini’, child marriage rates are declining in the district. Presently, 174 villages are free from child marriage.
The short film was recently inaugurated by Malkangiri Collector Vishal Singh. It is being played at various places in the district and also on social media to raise awareness.
