Bhubaneswar: Despite clear restrictions and warnings from the district administration, five organizers of Danda Nacha in Chhatrapur area of Ganjam district have been issued show cause notices for allowing obscene dance performances.
The Chhatrapur Tehsildar has served notices to the five organizers for flouting guidelines during the famous traditional Danda Nacha held in the Chhatrapur area. A case has also been registered at Chhatrapur Police Station in this connection.
According to reports, the Ganjam district administration and local NAC had issued strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) banning obscene, vulgar dances, songs, and use of ambiguous or indecent words during Danda Nacha performances.
The administration had clearly warned that violators would face strict action. However, the organizers allegedly ignored repeated warnings and permitted obscene performances, leading to the issuance of show cause notices and police action.
