Similipal National Forest Closed For Visitors As Heavy Rain Lashes Region

Bhubaneswar: Similipal National Park has been closed for visitors on Thursday owing to consistent heavy rain and dense foggy conditions, Sai Kiran, Deputy Director, Similipal North Wildlife Division, informed.

The region has been experiencing heavy rainfall for the past few days owing to a high-pressure system formed in Chhattisgarh. Ramatirtha received the maximum rainfall (34.545 mm) followed by Barehipani (25.146 mm), Nawana (17.3 mm), Chahala (17.4 mm), Thakurmunda (3.81 mm), Kendumundi (20.32 mm), and Satkasia (19.09 mm).
