Bhubaneswar: Six women IAS officers from the 2014 and 2015 batches—promoted from the Odisha Civil Service to the Indian Administrative Service—paid a courtesy call on Chief Secretary Anu Garg at Lok Seva Bhawan today.

The officers had recently returned after completing their 128th Induction Training Programme (post-employment training) at the prestigious Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie. The training, held from February 2 to March 13, involved 83 officers from various states. Odisha stood out by nominating an all-women delegation for this phase following their promotion, underscoring the state’s strong commitment to women empowerment and gender participation in governance.

The officers—Aradhana Das, Lily Kumari Kulu, Nivedita Mishra, Jugalswari Dash, Rega Gitarani Patnaik, and Swayamprabha Mohanty—excelled in diverse activities, including skill development programmes, Bharat Darshan study tours, case studies, group presentations, cultural events, and peer learning sessions (PEAR 1).

Chief Secretary Anu Garg congratulated them warmly, highlighting how their outstanding presentations on skill development initiatives and tour insights placed Odisha at the top, bringing pride to the state and themselves.

Notably, Swayamprabha Mohanty was recognized as a best performer for her case study presentation on women empowerment in Odisha, along with the state’s welfare programmes, health services, and maternal-child nutrition initiatives—efforts that have gained global acclaim.

Aradhana Das earned accolades as the best performer in the group presentation on the “Bharat Darshan” tour, showcasing India’s history, culture, traditions, development, and social fabric. The group also met the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, in New Delhi during the programme. Their cultural performances depicting Odisha’s rich art and heritage received high praise at the academy.
