Bhubaneswar: The Deputy Chief Administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Siddharth Shankar Swain, has assured that strict action will be taken against anyone violating temple rules.
This comes after a viral video surfaced on social media showing the interior of the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The video, posted by a devotee on Instagram (@luv.pahadan), was filmed from the Bhitara Bedha (inner premises) and shows the main temple (Bada Deula) from the Paschima Dwara (Vyaghra Dwara).
Swain confirmed that violators would be punished according to the law. He also added that to strengthen security, the SJTA is increasing surveillance and plans to hire additional security personnel.
“We are working to improve security at the temple and have announced plans to hire security battalions to strengthen our staff. This will help us monitor the temple better and with more staff on duty, we expect mobile phone use to be eliminated,” said SJTA Deputy Chief Administrator Swain to reporters on Tuesday.
