Bhubaneswar: The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has handed over the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)-Global Positioning System (GPS) survey report of the Shree Jagannath Temple’s Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), informed Dr Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Chief Administrator, SJTA in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
This survey was conducted by National Geophysical Research Institute (NGRI), Hyderabad on behalf of the ASI, Padhee added in the post. He said that the SJTA is always concerned about the stability and security of the temple.
Since the technical report has been received Dr Padhee has requested the ASI authorities to immediately take up the repair, maintenance and conservation of the entire Ratna Bhandar.
He has said that the SJTA will extend full cooperation in this important work.
The SJTA has written to the ASI in this connection.
