Bhubaneswar: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy died after being bitten by a poisonous snake while sleeping at home at Baragidi village under Khaira block in Baleshwar district.
The deceased has been identified as Omkar Mallik, son of Sashikanta Mallik.
According to reports, the child was bitten by a snake during the night while he was asleep. The family members were gripped by panic after they came to know about the bite and immediately rushed him to Soro hospital for treatment. However, doctors eventually declared him dead.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over the family, who are devastated by the sudden loss of their young son.
