Phulbani: Special Operations Group (SOG) jawans busted a Naxalite camp in the Durgapanga reserve forest area under Kotagarh and Belghar police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district and recovered seven powerful grenades, 3 guillotines, electric wires, advanced blasting machines, solar panels, and other incriminating items on Saturday.
According to Kandhamal Superintendent of Police (SP) Shubhendu Kumar Patra, during an anti-Maoist combing operation by SOG in the Durgapanga reserve forest area under Kotagarh and Belghar police limits, the Naxals opened fire on the security forces near the Bhalugurha, Sukarapadar, and Dimili areas.
The security jawans opened fire in self-defence which compelled the outlawed Maoists to flee the area. Later, during the combing operation, the jawans recovered improvised hand grenades, three gelatin sticks, electric wires, a blasting machine, and other articles.
