Bhubaneswar: The Special Intensive Revision of the voter list officially began in Odisha on Sunday, covering all assembly constituencies in the state. On the first day, Booth Level Officers distributed enumeration forms to 2,59,166 voters.
BLOs are going door to door in their respective areas to verify voter details. The exercise includes registration of new voters, deletion of names of deceased or shifted voters, and correction of errors in voter cards.
During the drive, each voter is being provided two pre-printed enumeration forms, or Annexure-III, by the BLOs. One copy of the completed form is collected by the BLO while the second is returned to the voter as an acknowledgement for future reference.
Recognized political parties in the state have appointed 33,026 Booth Level Agents to assist in the process. The BJP has appointed 19,380 BLAs, followed by BJD with 8,881, Congress with 4,658, CPI(M) with 60, and BSP with 47.
Voters can also download the form from the Election Commission’s official website, voters.eci.gov.in, and submit the filled form to their BLO. Officials said the revision process will help prepare a clean and accurate voter list. All voters have been requested to cooperate with BLOs during the survey.
