Srimandir Servitor Hospitalised After Hot Dal Falls On Him

Bhubaneswar: A Bojhia sevayat (servitor who carries Mahaprasad) at Shree Jagannath temple in Puri sustained severe burn injuries today when hot dal fell on him accidentally while he was carrying the Mahaprasad atop his head to Anand Bazar on the temple premises.

The injured servitor, identified as Anant Jena of Jhadipada, suffered burns from head to waist, with critical injuries to his face.

Jena was rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Puri town for treatment, where his condition is currently critical.

The mishap is believed to have occurred due to a slip, although the exact reason is still unknown. The incident highlights the risks faced by servitors in the line of duty, particularly those involved in carrying Mahaprasad.
