Bhubaneswar: The 8th State Police Inter-Battalion Commando Competition of Special Operation Group (SOG) concluded today at Chandaka in Bhubaneswar. Director General of Police (Crime Branch) Binaytosh Mishra graced the concluding ceremony as the chief guest and felicitated the best battalions and best commandos who performed well in the competition.
In this competition, OSAP 6th Battalion, Cuttack, was awarded the champion team while 8th Special IRBN, Bhanjanagar, was awarded the runners-up team. Similarly, 4th IRBN, Deogarh, won the Hard Liner Trophy.
Apart from this, Kapoor Chan Bhuye was awarded the best commando, Havildar Keshav Dharua was awarded the second best commando, and Kapoor Chan Bhuye received the Cheetah Trophy from the chief guest.
It is worth mentioning that 402 commandos from 17 teams of various armed battalions of Odisha Police participated in this competition.
The commandos participated in competitions like obstacle course, 1.3 km run in confidence course wearing a 5 kg backpack, cross-country walking with a 5 kg backpack, firing and displayed their skills.
Additional Director General of Police (Modernisation) Soumendra Priyadarshi, Additional Director General of police (Armed) Rajesh Kumar, Commandant, SOG, Shri Lochan Pasayat, Sports Officer, Shri Neela Madhav Swain were prominently present at today’s closing ceremony.
Commandos from all participating battalions displayed a high level of sportsmanship and demonstrated their skills in the competition with discipline and determination.
