Bhubaneswar: The Special Task Force (STF) of Odisha Crime Branch seized brown sugar weighing 1.19 kilograms from the possession of a drug peddler in Nayagarh district on Sunday.
Reportedly, a team of STF had conducted a raid at Narayani Pitha in Kantilo under Fategarh police limits of the district.
A drug peddler identified as Hara Prasad Prusty alias Shiva of Chamusahi Patna village of the district was apprehended during the raid.
He was found in possession of the contraband. One motorcycle and other incriminating materials were also recovered and seized from his possession.
As he could not produce any valid authority in support of possession of such contraband materials, for which he was arrested and forwarded to the court of District & Sessions cum Spl. Judge, Nayagarh.
Since 2020, STF has seized more than 68 Kg of Brown Sugar/Heroin, 202 Gram Cocaine and more than 111 quintals of Ganja/Marijuana, Opium 750 gram and arrested more than 166 drug dealers/peddlers.
