Mayurbhanj: In a tragic incident, a Class X student consumed poison hours after the CHSE declared the 2024 matriculation exam results on Sunday. The condition of the minor student is still critical.

According to reports, the student named Rajesh is a resident of Purunapani village of Betanoli block in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district. He was staying at his maternal uncle’s house in Angaragadia village and studying at Dinabandhu High School in the district.

Rajesh was expecting to do well in the matriculation exam but after the results were declared, he found that he could secure only 242 marks and passed in the D grade. Frustrated over his poor performance, he consumed pesticide from a bottle kept in the house.

His relatives rushed him to a medical facility in Besingha, where his condition is still stated to be critical.
