Subarnapur Collector Orders Morning Classes For Students Due To Heatwave

Subarnapur: In view of the prevailing heatwave conditions in Subarnapur district, the district administration has issued fresh orders to reschedule the timing of all educational institutions.

According to an order issued today by the District Magistrate & Collector, Subarnapur, all schools, colleges, Anganwadi Centres (AWCs), technical institutions, and other educational institutions in the district will function from 6:30 am to 10:30 am with effect from June 22, 2026, until further orders.

The order has been issued in the interest of the health and safety of students amid the intense summer heat.

The notification further directs all heads of institutions to ensure adequate provision of drinking water facilities and implement necessary heat-wave safety measures for students and staff.

This decision comes as several parts of Odisha, including Subarnapur, continue to experience severe heatwave conditions.

“As the heat wave condition continues to persist in Subarnapur District, In the interest of the health and safety of students, it is hereby ordered that the timing of all types of Schools & Colleges, Anganwadi Centers (AWCs), Technical Institutions and other educational institutions in the District shall be from 6.30 A.M. to 10.30 A.M. from 22.06.2026 until further order”, read the notification.
