Subarnapur: A female employee of a showroom was allegedly assaulted and gang-raped by three youths at Dharmasala area under Biramaharajpur police station in Subarnapur district.
As per reports, the woman was returning home from work yesterday evening when she was allegedly attacked by three youths wearing masks near the ITI.
According to the complaint filed by the victim, the youths not only gang-raped the woman but also sprayed something on her face, rendering her helpless. The victim has lodged a complaint with the police, although she was unable to identify the perpetrators.
Biramaharajpur Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) has confirmed the incident and stated that the investigation is underway.
SDPO said, “Based on the complaint, police registered a case in this connection and detained two youths today morning. Police have, meanwhile, launched an investigation into the matter. The miscreants sprayed something on her face following which she became unconscious. Taking advantage of the situation, they reportedly gang-raped her.”
