Bhubaneswar: Three youths were arrested in connection with the murder of the youth, Shaikh Sajid in Mukunda Prasad of Khurdha.
The accused are Biswajeet Moharana alias Mikina(19), Mukesh Sethi alias (26). Both belong to Podasahi in Khurdha. Another accused identified as Asish Pattnaik alias Akash (19)is a resident of Kaliagora under Town Police station in Jagatsinghpur. Presently, he is residing at Baulasahi near Mukundrasad in Khurdha, police said.
Police formed four teams to nab the accused. One team was engaged in analysing the spot and other evidence, while three other teams carried out raids at different areas in the district, said Khurdha SP Awinash Kumar.
“They will be forwarded to court today. Primafacie, it seems they had previous enmity with the victim. Further investigation is underway,” the SP said.
Shaikh Sajid was hacked to death by the accused in the Mukund Prasad area in Khurda municipality on Sunday morning. In the aftermath of the crime, 20 vehicles were damaged by angry locals.
