Nabarangpur: Forest officials on Friday detained three persons and seized a leopard skin near Nunpani village under the Kodinga range of Nabarangpur district.
The detainees, identified as two sellers and one buyer, are all residents of Jharigan block.
Acting on a tip-off, a special team of forest officials intercepted the group and seized the leopard skin, which the detainees were allegedly planning to sell for around Rs 5 lakh.
The Forest Department has taken all three into custody and launched a detailed investigation.
The origin of the leopard skin is yet to be ascertained and further action will be taken based on the ongoing probe, the report said.
