Dhenkanal: An injured female elephant calf, approximately three years old, was rescued after it accidentally fell into an open well at Kaunriapal Beat under Gadasila Section of Dhenkanal Range.
On receiving information, Forest Department officials promptly reached the spot. With the assistance of the Rapid Response Team (RRT) of Dhenkanal Forest Division, the calf was successfully rescued from the well.
The rescue operation was completed without further injury to the animal. Immediately after being brought out, the calf was examined by the veterinary team and provided necessary first-aid and supportive treatment at the spot.
The calf is presently in a stable condition and is under close observation. As advised by the veterinary team, it requires continued treatment and close monitoring for proper recovery. Necessary arrangements are being made for its further veterinary care, officials said.
The Forest Department is closely monitoring the condition of the rescued elephant calf and taking all necessary measures to ensure its safe recovery.
