Thunderstorm Alert: IMD Issues Warnings For 27 Odisha Districts Tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warnings for several Odisha districts, forecasting thunderstorms with lightning, hail, and gusty winds.

An orange warning is issued for Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Keonjhar, and Balasore, while a Yellow Warning covers districts including Gajapati, Ganjam, and several others.

“Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and Hail along with gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) is likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Sundergarh, Keonjhar & Balasore”, read the IMD’s prediction for tomorrow.

Besides, a yellow warning has been issued for Gajapati and Ganjam districts, where thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (40-50 kmph) are very likely to occur at isolated places. Additionally, multiple districts including Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Dhenkanal, Angul, Boudh, Kandhamal, Malkangiri, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangapur, Sundergarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Deogarh.

For March 29, the regional weather office has issued an orange warning predicting thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 50-60 kmph) at isolated places over the districts of Mayurbhanj.

Besides, the IMD has issued a yellow warning forecasting thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty surface wind (wind speed reaching upto 40-50 kmph) at isolated places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.
