Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday night issued a nowcast yellow warning for Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, forecasting thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rainfall at one or two places during the next three hours.
According to the weather bulletin issued at 10 pm, thunderstorm activity is also likely in Puri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Nayagarh and Bargarh districts.
The IMD advised residents to keep a close watch on weather conditions and remain prepared to move to safer locations in the event of thunderstorms and lightning.
The yellow warning signifies the need for people to remain aware of changing weather conditions and take necessary precautions to avoid lightning strikes and other weather-related hazards.
Authorities have urged the public, particularly those engaged in outdoor activities, to exercise caution until the weather system passes.
