Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj over the next 24 hours. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for these districts.
Similarly, light to moderate rain or thunderstorm is very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of South Coastal Odisha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and at one or two places over the rest districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours.
Further, heat wave condition is very likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Bargarh, and Sonepur during the next 24 hours. The IMD has issued a yellow alert for the two districts.
The sky in Bhubaneswar and its neighbourhood will be generally cloudy with light rain during the next 24 hours.
Maximum and Minimum temperature is very likely to be around 33°C and 26°C respectively.

In view of the yellow warning issued by the IMD, the Special Relief Commissioner’s (SRC’s) office has issued an advisory to all Collectors.
In the advisory, districts under yellow warning have been asked to keep administrative machinery ready to face any eventuality.
