Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a nowcast warning for thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over 10 districts of Odisha.
According to the nowcast issued at 2 pm today, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning, gusty winds of 30-40 kmph, and light to moderate rainfall is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Balangir within the next three hours. These districts have been issued yellow warnings.
People in the affected areas have been advised to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on the weather. They should be prepared to move to safer locations if conditions worsen, particularly to protect themselves from the risk of lightning strikes.
